PodPower ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information when you use our website and mobile applications.

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following information:

  • Email address: When you sign up for a PodPower account, we store your email to manage your account and provide personalized services.
  • Chat history: We save your AI-generated chat conversations so you can revisit them later.
  • Usage data: We automatically collect anonymous usage data such as pages visited, features used, and interactions with the site (e.g., searches, button clicks). We also collect technical information like browser type, device type, and approximate location derived from your IP address.

We do not collect any other personally identifiable information unless you voluntarily provide it.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Provide and personalize the services you use
  • Store and retrieve your past chats
  • Communicate with you (e.g. service updates, support)
  • Improve our product through aggregated, anonymized usage analytics

3. AI and Third-Party Services

To power AI features (such as summaries and conversations), we send relevant data (e.g., episode transcripts, your chat messages) to third-party AI providers via OpenRouter.

As of now, we use Gemini models from Google, but this may change. We will update this policy if we change providers in a way that affects data handling.

Analytics: We use PostHog and Vercel Analytics to understand how our website is used and to improve the product. These services may collect your IP address, browser information, and usage patterns. PostHog may use cookies or similar technologies to distinguish users. For more information, see PostHog's Privacy Policy. We do not use this data to track you across other websites.

4. Data Storage and Hosting

Your data is securely stored on Supabase, our backend platform provider. Supabase may process data on our behalf but does not access it for its own purposes.

Analytics data processed by PostHog is stored on PostHog's cloud infrastructure.

5. Data Retention and Deletion

We retain your account email and chat history for as long as you have an active account.

6. Your Rights

If you are located in the European Union or other jurisdictions with data protection laws, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Request correction or deletion
  • Object to or restrict certain types of data processing

We are committed to complying with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and other applicable laws.

7. Children's Privacy

PodPower is intended for use by adults. We do not knowingly collect or solicit personal data from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us immediately and we will delete it.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy occasionally. If we make significant changes, we will notify you via email or through the app.
